The KIRFOR programme (Kyrgyz-Swiss Forestry Support Programme) started in 1995 with the goal to support reforming the Kyrgyz forestry sector for a more social and productive oriented forest management, toward sustainability and biodiversity conservation. The programme was developed by Intercooperation, the Swiss Foundation for Development and International Cooperation and funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC.
